SAP Functional Consultant - FICO Group Reporting

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced SAP FICO Functional Consultant with 7-10 years of hands-on expertise in SAP Group Reporting and S/4HANA Finance.
The ideal candidate will have deep functional knowledge across SAP FICO modules (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, CO) combined with advanced skills in Group Reporting design, configuration, and consolidation processes. This role requires strong consulting abilities to lead workshops, gather requirements, configure solutions, and ensure seamless integration across finance and related modules.
SAP Group Reporting - Design & Configuration
Lead the design and configuration of SAP Group Reporting, including:
- Consolidation models
- Group structures
- Elimination rules
- Reporting layouts
- Align consolidation processes with business objectives and S/4HANA best practices.
Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement
- Conduct workshops with finance stakeholders to capture consolidation and reporting needs.
- Document processes and translate business requirements into system configurations.
- Partner with business teams to align SAP capabilities with legal and management consolidation requirements.
Data & Integration Management
- Oversee data mapping, migration, and reconciliation for consolidation units and accounts.
- Coordinate integration with SAP General Ledger and related modules (MM, SD, PS, CO).
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of consolidated financial data.
Testing & Validation
- Develop and execute test plans for unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Validate consolidated financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve consolidation and reporting issues.
SAP FICO Functional Expertise
- Configure and support General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Cost Center/Profit Center Accounting.
- Work on FI-Logistics processes, intercompany transactions, and revenue recognition.
- Ensure seamless integration between FICO and other SAP modules (MM, SD, PS, CO).
- Develop functional specifications for enhancements and work closely with ABAP/Basis teams.
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred education
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Required technical and professional expertise
- 7-10 years of SAP Finance experience, including FICO and Group Reporting.
- Proven track record in S/4HANA deployments and finance transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of consolidation processes, intercompany eliminations, and currency translation.
- Experience configuring SAP FICO modules and integrating with other SAP components.
- SAP certification in Group Reporting or S/4HANA Finance preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex finance workflows.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for workshops and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver in fast-paced consulting environments.
- Familiarity with SAP security, WRICEF development, and testing frameworks.
