Your role and responsibilities

The IBM Canada Consulting Senior Financial Analyst is part of the IBM Canada Consulting organization, reporting directly to the Canada Consulting CFO. Key deliverables include measuring, forecasting, and planning for Consulting brand in Canada. The Senior Financial Analyst interacts regularly with our Sales and Delivery Leaders and provides value added analysis on the performance of the Sector. Key tasks include forecast and contract analysis, month end activities, journal vouchers, accounting checklists, supporting the plan process, and ad hoc response to day-to-day business unit issues.

Bachelor's Degree

Master's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Advanced analytical ability and comfort working with complex data sets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills suited for senior and executive audiences
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial outcomes to operational drivers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines
  • Proven leadership skills, including influencing without authority or mentoring others
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools; advanced Excel skills are expected
  • Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving capabilities

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Experience in consulting, advisory services, or client-facing analytical role
  • Ability to assess operational and financial processes and recommend improvements
  • Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools (such as Power BI or Tableau)
  • CPA or MBA
