Compensation and Benefits Specialist - HR Ops

The Opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, we are looking for a Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join our HR Services team and play a critical role in delivering efficient, compliant, and employee-focused compensation and benefits operations. In this role, you will support the execution of key compensation programs, payroll coordination, HR systems administration, and employee lifecycle transactions, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience for employees and managers.

You will collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, People Analytics, and business stakeholders to ensure compensation and benefits processes are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with local regulations and company policies. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining data integrity, supporting organizational effectiveness, and enabling a positive employee experience.

• Execute compensation processes including annual salary reviews, mid-year salary adjustments, incentive programs, and related compensation activities with accuracy and timeliness.
• Partner with payroll teams to ensure accurate payroll inputs, reporting, and compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and enhance employee data quality within HR systems, ensuring accurate organizational, compensation, and leave-related information.
• Prepare and manage HR documentation, including employment letters, salary certificates, transfer and promotion communications, and other employee correspondence.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of compensation and benefits processes, policies, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with HR, People Analytics, Payroll, and other stakeholders to resolve employee-related and compliance issues effectively.
• Deliver HR operational projects within agreed timelines, scope, and quality standards.
• Monitor compensation and benefits activities, identify process improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions that enhance efficiency and service delivery.
• Generate and analyze reports and metrics to support informed decision-making and operational effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, internal controls, company policies, and governance requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll Administration, or HR Shared Services.
• Strong understanding of compensation, payroll, HR operations processes, and employee data management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HR information systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills in a multicultural environment.
• Experience working with HR compliance requirements and confidential employee information.
• Project management experience and continuous improvement mindset are preferred.
