The Technical Leader - Dose & Dispersion will be responsible for providing and leading the radiological engineering function within Core & Fuels Engineering to support fuels, services, new plants, and other products within GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy. The Technical Leader will be responsible to lead a group of engineers to perform applicable dose consequence and dispersion analyses within the nuclear, radiological, and safety analysis engineering function. In particular, the Technical Leader will plan, assign and manage resources for the team performing source term, decay heat, dose and dispersion analyses and other nuclear safety analyses supporting GEH's next generation of Light Water Reactor (LWR) the BWRX-300, next generation reactor designs (GEN 4) and products, designs and services related to servicing our existing fleets & fuel.

Essential Responsibilities:
The Dose & Dispersion team is responsible for the assessment of on and offsite dose consequences and dispersion. This includes the development of core, coolant, fuel pool, and system source terms, as well as considerations for keeping worker doses As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) and protection of the public.
As the Technical Leader you will:
- Provide technical leadership for the team.
- Be responsible for team resource planning and assignments.
- Perform manager review and approval of engineering technical deliverables for GEH/GNF customers.
- Partner with business teams to provide work planning, scheduling, risks and technical support for customer deliverables.
- Work within a team environment and have accountability for delivering products and services on-time and on-budget.
- Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, licensing, and regulatory authorities on technical issues.
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities.
- Mentor in area of expertise to less experienced engineers.
- Be responsible for oversight of the product technology decisions and provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Work across engineering teams to assure effective interdisciplinary design interfaces are established and maintained, resolve interdisciplinary issues, plan/support independent design reviews.
- Perform work in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures.
- Meet customer commitments and drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in engineering, physics, or closely related science discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in nuclear radiological analysis, nuclear safety analysis and methods, or nuclear fuel, core, or plant design.
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time as required.
- The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
Desired Qualifications:
- M.S. or Ph.D in Nuclear Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with Primavera or equivalent planning tool.
- Experience with BWR technology and sodium fast reactor technology.
- Knowledge of plant operational support.
- Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements.
- Experience with ORIGEN, RADTRAD, MACCS, GALE, MELCOR, MAAP, SCALE, MCNP.
- Object-oriented programming experience such as Java, C#, C++.
The base pay range for this position is $112 - $155K. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 4/9/25.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
