Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
Approval of contractors and partners in accordance with the Electrification Software EHS Plan, leveraging the ComplyWorks tool.
Approval of specific EHS plans for medium and high-risk turnkey projects.
Answering pre-qualification EHS questionnaires before Grid Software bids on projects.
Reviewing and editing non-standard EHS terms and conditions in customer contracts and tender documents in partnership with Electrification Software Legal.
Produce for Legal EHS and Legal Compliance monthly reports of (a) contractors/partners approved in ComplyWorks (b) and as high- and medium-risk projects in execution.
Provide guidance to Grid Software Project Managers and site EHS contractors for Electrification Software's Projects & Services EHS Plan. This includes regular meetings with, training for, and responding to queries from site EHS personnel.
Respond to customer queries for medium and high-risk projects globally.
Conduct mandatory GE Vernova Life saving Rules effectiveness checks for select projects in execution.
Conduct incident investigations for injuries, near misses, and PSEs at turnkey project sites.
Work with the Legal EHS training lead to develop employees' technical EHS competency, implement and administer the EHS training program for personnel in the region.
Ensure that all EHS events (accidents / incidents, near-misses, first aid cases, property damages, etc.) in the region are recorded, investigated, and analyzed to prevent reoccurrence.
Define and monitor actions to improve EHS performance for field projects and to reduce likelihood and severity of EHS events.
Monitor the implantation of the Electrification Software Projects & Services EHS Plan, and take appropriate actions in the event of non-compliance. Liase with the Legal EHS team on cross-business audits, and ensure closure of any findings.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in relevant field of study.
• Minimum 8 years of significant EHS and operational experience leading regional, global, or large-scale EHS programs and overseeing the execution of EHS in projects or services environment for an industrial or software company in a complex regulatory environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English required; additional regional languages are a plus.
• At least one active professional certification is highly desired.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
Desired Characteristics:
• Previous GE experience and knowledge of GE requirements is appreciated.
• Demonstrated achievements with safety programs and expertise in multiple high-risk operations (e.g. electrical safety/LOTO, crane safety, construction safety, work at height, confined space).
• Ability to coach, mentor, and drive accountability through team engagement and support key influencers to drive EHS compliance cross-functionally.
• Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate, build, develop, and lead teams of partners and stakeholders in a matrixed and geographically distributed environment.
• Confidently able to facilitate and deliver training and presentations to a diverse audience.
• Customer-focused with strong written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills.
