Roles and Responsibilities
System Monitoring & Analysis
- Monitor industrial equipment and systems using SmartSignal or similar predictive analytics platforms.
Analyze sensor data, vibration patterns, temperature readings, and other operational parameters
- Identify anomalies, trends, and patterns that indicate potential equipment issues
-Interpret predictive maintenance alerts and recommend actions
Data Management
- Configure and maintain data collection systems and sensors - Ensure data quality, accuracy, and completeness
- Manage historical data archives and trending analysis - Integrate multiple data sources and systems Predictive Maintenance
- Identify opportunities to refine predictive models for equipment failure prevention
- Create maintenance schedules based on equipment condition rather than time intervals
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize repair and replacement strategies

- Generate detailed condition monitoring reports
- Provide early warning notification systems for critical equipment failures
- Investigate equipment performance issues and root causes
- Support emergency response and unplanned outage investigations
- Provide technical expertise during equipment failures
- Recommend corrective actions and improvements
Communication & Collaboration Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate findings to operations, maintenance, and management teams
- Present technical data in accessible formats for technical and non-technical audiences
- Coordinate with field technicians and maintenance personnel
- Support decision-making processes with data-driven insights Documentation & Reporting
- Create and enhance standard operating procedures for monitoring activities
- Document lessons learned and best practices
Continuous Improvement Technology Enhancement
- Stay current with advances in condition monitoring technology
- Evaluate and implement new monitoring techniques and tools
- Optimize alarm settings and notification systems
- Contribute to the development of monitoring strategies Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Train operators and maintenance staff on monitoring systems
- Develop training materials and procedures
- Share expertise across different plant locations or business units
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians
Industry-Specific Applications
Depending on the industry, responsibilities may also include:
- Power Generation: Monitoring turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment
- Oil & Gas: Pipeline monitoring, compressor stations, and refinery equipment
- Manufacturing: Production line equipment, motors, and process systems
Required Qualifications
- For roles outside of the USA:
- Engineering knowledge, data analysis skills, and practical understanding of industrial equipment operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
Desired Characteristics
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems with limited oversight
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
