What impact you'll make:
Engineers in the Field Engineering Program (FEP) work onsite with and for our customers with legacy fleet reactors. You will provide immediate value as part of the outage team, servicing our customers' reactors safely, effectively, and efficiently, to get them back on-line.
Job Description
FEP engineers work in a value-adding role while participating in a development program consisting of rotational assignments within outage services that build key technical and leadership competencies. Candidates will receive training from and work alongside industry experts to help improve their skills and knowledge on nuclear power processes and equipment. This program prepares the candidate to become an Outage Service engineer who will operate confidently and provide support for the successful execution of complex projects and activities.

As a Nuclear FEP, you will:
- Actively engage in a 2-year rotation program to participate on a variety of outage teams and enhance core leadership and technical skills.
- Successfully complete curriculum including virtual, classroom and hands-on training at the GE Vernova Hitachi Services Training Facilities in Wilmington, NC and San Jose, CA.
- Perform on-site reactor services of systems and equipment during plant outages.
- Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GEV safety standards.
- Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers.
- After the successful completion of the 2-year rotational program, you will be placed into a dedicated GE Vernova Hitachi Field Engineer position.
What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
- Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 / 4.0.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Relocation to Wilmington, NC is required.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% to domestic plant sites
- Ability and willingness to work 12 hours/day, shifts, and 7 days/week when needed for project delivery
- Basic mechanical aptitude is required. Must be able to read and understand equipment manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb 10 flights of stairs twice per day
- Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical
- Ability to pass Fitness for Duty requirements and site security requirements to obtain unescorted access
- Ability to work under high stress conditions
- Ability and willingness to work in radiation-controlled areas and radioactively contaminated areas
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Where you will land in 2 years
After the program, you will have a solid foundation of working in and leading teams during a reactor outage. As an Outage Services Field Engineer, you will apply your technical expertise to strengthen the existing fleet of nuclear reactors. You might be leading teams on the Refuel Floor, Under Vessel or designing/building/implementing tools in our Modification teams or Inspection Services group.
The base pay for this position is $64,000 to $81,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday October 31st.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
