We are looking for a lead electrical engineer to work within our systems engineering organisation based in Glasgow or Rugby. You will be responsible for supporting our contract manufacturing partners during the production of our electrical drive, switchboard and associated distribution products. You will also be involved in the design and documentation of our equipment as part of the project team delivering new solutions.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the manufacture of electrical equipment, including drives, switchboards and distribution panels, providing rapid responses to technical queries, managing schedules and helping to resolve quality issues.
- Act as the main technical point of contact for all electrical engineering topics related to ongoing contract manufacturing work.
- Work with our supplier quality engineering team to assess and approve potential new suppliers.
- Collaborate with project managers to set priorities, manage cost, and develop manufacturing schedules.
- Contribute to test plans and support routine testing and customer factory acceptance testing.
- Create electrical designs using EPlan and BoMs within Siemens TeamCenter.
- This role will involve significant periods of travel, both within the UK and internationally.
Essential Requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or significant relevant experience in an electrical engineering environment.
- Significant experience with a good technical knowledge of:
- electrical technology
- electrical circuit design
- electrical assembly
- cabling and wiring
- DFMA
- A track record in supporting manufacturing and product development, ideally gained in the industrial or electrical equipment sectors.
- The ability to interpret electrical schematics.
- Good engineering, communication, and organisational skills.
- You must be a sole UK National and hold or be eligible to obtain UK security clearance to SC level.
Desired Characteristics
- Demonstrable experience in a project lead role.
- Proficiency in the use of EPlan or similar software for the creation of electrical schematic drawings.
- Experience in the use of Siemens TeamCenter PLM software for BoM creation & management.
- Previous experience of UK Naval engineering projects.
