Lead Project Planner - HVDC

As 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫, you'll become a key member of a cross-functional project team and play a crucial role in planning and executing major HVDC projects, ensuring they run on time and within budget to support renewable energy integration and efficient power transmission. Working closely with Project and Engineering Managers, you'll manage end-to-end planning for HVDC converter station projects across the UK and Europe-covering engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining schedules, managing risks, and aligning stakeholders.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Coordinate inputs from all functions and third parties to ensure accurate timelines.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Provide schedule analysis, forecasts, and "what-if" scenarios to optimize execution.
- Prepare and deliver customer reports and communicate scheduling updates.
- Drive accountability across teams for schedule commitments.
Essential Qualifications:
- Academic degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering (or related field), or significant relevant experience gained in a professional engineering environment.
- Proven experience in planning/scheduling for large, complex projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Data-driven approach for the purpose of reporting, forecasting and risk mitigation.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities with an ability to navigate internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency in the usage of Primavera P6.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in HVDC or power transmission projects.
- Microsoft Power BI reporting experience.
- Familiarity with global project standards and risk management practices.
