Job Description Summary
MPE Center of Excellence in GE Vernova Engineering Innovation Center (Warsaw/Poland) is looking for a Lead Engineer with proven experience in the area of manufacturing of Gas Turbine combustor components.
Responsibilities include providing guidance on metallurgy, joining, support of production processes, customer support, improvement of existing products, supporting Root Cause Analyses by performing Failure Analysis of HGP and structure components. In this role you will work in global team and be responsible for assignments of varying complexity.
This is a hybrid position with office and laboratory located in GE Vernova EIC Warsaw/Poland.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Materials engineering with respect to processes and products focused on Gas Turbine combustor parts
- Provide metallurgical support for Mechanical Design team, Supply Chain (mainly European); define quality requirements based on internal specifications and industrial standards
- Disposition of material substitutions and deviations
- Effectively document results and present them in formal and informal meetings, document technical data generated
- Responsibility for a given gas turbine component in material terms, material analyses, inspections, manufacturing processes control and support, solving problems, adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Participation in the continuous improvement of parts as well as the design/manufacturing process.
- Leveraging in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking and technical experience to execute business strategy.
- Formulating and implementing plans to achieve technical requirements, prepare schedules, coordinate and supervise teams providing sub-analyses.
- Recommending approach to meet the technical and program requirements.
- Independently determining the scope of work to be performed or planning the scope of activities in the assigned area, monitoring and effectively communicating projects status, issues and significant developments.
- Using multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- Understanding the impact of the work performed on the company's goals.
Required Qualifications
- Must be independent engineer that executes with minimum guidance
- MSc in Metallurgy, Material Science
- This role requires experience in the Engineering/Materials Technology in areas of joining (welding, brazing) and heat treatment
- Proven technical and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience in industrial environment working on or supporting manufacturing of Gas Turbine components
- Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skills, including technical English.
