Job Description Summary
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
- Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and machinery
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, and general upkeep tasks
- Monitor building systems (lighting, heating, cooling, etc.) for efficiency and proper operation
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when necessary
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred)
- 5 years' experience in facility maintenance or a related field
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems
Preferred Skills:
- HVAC certification or relevant trade license
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs or more
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
Work Schedule
1st shift may need to work weekends and be on call for facility emergencies.
