Staff AI Engineer - AI Catalyst
Description
Join the team powering GM's AI transformation! Our AI Catalyst team, part of the Office of the Chief AI Officer, serves as GM's internal AI design and solution engineering group. We partner directly with business units across vehicle design, manufacturing, and enterprise operations to prototype and implement AI-powered solutions that accelerate GM's transformation into an AI-driven company.
Our Mission & Core Responsibilities: Across GM, many teams are eager to adopt AI but lack the technical depth to execute. The AI Catalyst team acts as a "plug-and-play" AI partner, providing the expertise, prototypes, and frameworks needed to jumpstart their AI journey. Our mission is to make AI accessible, actionable, and effective across GM's diverse ecosystem - from design studios to assembly plants.
We bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI technology and real-world business needs - helping teams translate their goals into scalable, high-impact AI solutions. Projects may span from robotics automation for manufacturing, generative vehicle design, to predictive modeling for warranty or plant optimization, all aimed at bringing AI's full potential to GM's enterprise.
The Role: As a Staff AI Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping GM's future through the high-impact AI solutions you develop.
You will collaborate directly with internal business and engineering partners, prototyping and deploying AI systems that enable smarter, faster, and more efficient operations across GM's global enterprise.
You'll lead high-impact AI enablement projects across multiple domains, set the technical direction for solution prototyping, and guide cross-functional collaboration. Acting as a key technical advisor to business and engineering leaders, you'll mentor engineers and ensure that GM's AI solutions are robust, adaptable, and aligned with enterprise goals.
