Description

Delivers and integrates the integrated on-vehicle sensor performance of the localization sensors (GNSS and IMU) for all ADAS programs. Advance end-to-end sensor performance that provides the highest level of benefit to customers. Involves hands-on in vehicle, bench and virtual testing, data analysis, procedure refinement, tool deployment and performance optimization. Work closely with other sensor team members, sensing system design engineers, perception, feature engineers and design release engineers to deliver robust, integrated sensor performance for ADAS features. Partner of the Electrical Systems Management Team (SMT) to the Vehicle Program Team that deploys component/system solutions, manages imperatives, and ensures integration compatibility to the vehicle mission profile. Single point contact for end-to-end sensor performance and execution of Acceptance Test Plan (ATP). Integrate new sensor hardware and software on-vehicle. Lead on-vehicle sensor issue root cause, verify resolution and feed forward lessons learned. Guide sensor performance PRTS and Jira tickets to resolution. Support software engineers, perception team and suppliers to ensure sensor capability is developed to achieve feature performance. Collaborate with Sensor System Design Engineers and DREs to establish and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPI), ATPs, component IQC (Initial Quality Check) and sensor tools for sensors to meet perception and feature requirements. Participate in Dev/Val, Core, workgroups, PDTs, and technical reviews as required. Travel as needed in support of sensor development and performance calibration rides. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field and 5 years of Integration Engineer, Staff Engineer, or related role. Alternate requirements: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as an Integration Engineer, Staff Engineer, or related role. Three years of experience with: Localization (Global Navigation Satellite System and Inertial Measurement Unit) sensor system development, including development of loosely coupled and tightly coupled extended Kalman filters, emerging satellite radio navigation signals, and global regulatory policies for these technologies; Utilizing global reference datums including WGS84 and GCJ02; Complex vehicle systems, including bi-directional data communication over protected vehicle networks, RF electrical compatibility between antennas and embedded vehicle radios, and electromagnetic interference susceptibilities between vehicle components; GNSS performance post processing using Waypoint Inertial Explorer; Vehicle architectures, CAN, LIN, and ethernet aptitude, including configuration and usage of debug tools such as developed by IntrepidCS or Vector; Development of custom signal parsing tools for advanced network analytics; Vehicle development, calibration, integration, and diagnostics, including analysis of pcap log files, cellular modem debug logs, GPS binary logs, and antenna pattern measurements; Utilizing data collection and calibration tools including Vehicle Spy, Qualcomm eXtensible Diagnostic Monitor (QXDM), GM specific tools such as RMM (Remote Management and Monitoring) and ATT (Application Test Tool); Configuration and setup of precise vehicle ground truthing equipment including application of level arm biases from vendors such as Novatel and Applanix; and Python tool and scripting development including creation of statistical performance evaluation tools, and ATS (Automated Test tool) execution.
