Job Description:
Director, Full Stack Software Engineering - Enterprise Technology
We are looking for someone to join a growing leadership team that manages the software engineers who develop and support various internal Fidelity applications. Our customers are our fellow associates, and we deal with important, often highly confidential information and take security very seriously. We support a mix of SaaS and custom applications and are looking for leaders who will take a product-first approach to find the best solution to meet the needs of our business partners, regardless of the technology stack.
As a Software Engineering Leader in Enterprise Technology, you will blend deep engineering experience and an understanding of best-of-breed technologies with a passion for mentoring and developing associates.
Building and fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration within your team as well as across other teams is critical - it is as important as the technologies we choose. We are seeking a leader who will provide strong technical direction while developing and empowering the team members to join in to make significant contributions to the team and product direction.

The Expertise and Skills You Have
- Computer Science or Software/Systems Engineering degree preferred
- 10+ years of engineering/development experience
- Mandatory 4+ years of experience directly managing a team of software engineers (e.g.: hiring, supervising, motivating, mentoring, coaching, and conducting performance reviews)
- Hands on experience with design, full-stack development, and execution of complex Enterprise-scale software solutions using Java and a UI framework such as Angular
- Skilled with Cloud-Native Engineering and DevOps in AWS
- Experience with SaaS-based solutions (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow) preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships and influence at all levels of the organization
- Deep understanding of Agile practices and teams that work in Agile environments
- Intellectual curiosity to develop a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to assimilate information quickly and anticipate change
- Solid understanding of how to foster and support a strong community of developers who enjoy coming into work, sharing ideas and solutions while supporting each other

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
