Treasury Senior Analyst

During 2019 Equinix took a significant step in its plan to support the rapid growth of their hyperscale customers - the establishment of a joint venture to own, run, and develop xScale data centres in Europe. This was an exciting milestone by itself, but it also set out a framework for funding future xScale data centres around the world. In 2020, 2021 and 2022 we continued to invest in the initiative with a JV being established in APAC, and now we are looking to scale our global service delivery in 2023/2024.

Reporting to the Senior Treasury Manager and based in Singapore, this position will be responsible for managing APAC Treasury Operations for the Global xScale business. The emphasis of the job is on the liquidity management, external financing, and treasury process improvement. The job requires close partnership with the Global Treasury and Finance team, xScale Management team, Lending Banks, Tax, Legal and IT.

This is a high visibility position, both internally and externally, and will require partnering with global banks and financial institutions, joint venture partners, FP&A, Corporate Development, Tax, Finance, internal and external legal advisors, and accounting functions in supporting the xScale global growth.

Areas of responsibility include but not limited to:

  • Meet the liquidity needs of APAC xScale portfolio through cash flow forecasting
  • Manage the capital call process for each xScale structure in the region
  • Track and manage bank covenants, reporting requirements and debt services of each xScale financing structure
  • Develop and maintain optimal Cash Management structures
  • Maximize return and minimize risk of excess liquidity through appropriate investment vehicles and/or periodic repatriations
  • Manage intercompany balances of each xScale structure in the region
  • Manage and keep track of intercompany loan portfolio, optimize the loan structure where suitable
  • Manage and keep track of bank guarantee portfolio
  • Actively liaise with the Security Agents and Lenders of each Lending Facility to ensure timely provision of information required by both parties.
  • Produce periodic and ad-hoc Treasury report for xScale investors and internal Equinix team
  • Support Quarterly Treasury SOX testing
  • Support year-end audit for the xScale Group and local statutory accounts issuance
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement of Treasury tools and technology

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in finance or treasury management in an international corporate or banking environment, with a strong background in corporate finance, external debt management and liquidity management.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
  • Experience in managing joint ventures and/or project finance highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills to ensure Treasury objectives are communicated and understood.
  • Growth-oriented mindset and desire to drive change.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using treasury management system is an advantage.
