DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

If you have worked in the development and operation of SaaS applications, you have experience in at least one programming language, you build with scalability and security in mind, and the tools used in DevOps practices excite you, then you are our ideal candidate.

You will be part of a world-class product engineering team that's paving the path for new ways for enterprises to consume ever-increasing cloud services. This team is responsible for building Equinix's highly scalable, globally distributed, real-time data center infrastructure monitoring applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, manage and operate infrastructure with a focus on security and automation through infrastructure as code,
  • Write code, integrate systems, and build configurations to drive and innovate around Public Cloud based platform across the organization,
  • Engage with Production Engineering in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the build/release infrastructure,
  • Identify and troubleshoot any availability, security, and performance issues at multiple layers of deployment,
  • Evaluate performance trends and expected changes in demand and capacity, and establish the appropriate scalability plans,
  • Design and build automated code deployment systems that simplify development work and make our work more consistent and predictable,
  • Create mechanisms/architectures that enable rapid recovery, repair, and cleanup of faulty migrations with good understanding of fault tolerance and failure domains,
  • Collaborate with other engineers to implement operational solutions while defining, adhering to industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • hands-on professional infrastructure development experience architecting, building, deploying, and maintaining customer-facing applications at scale in innovative engineering environments.

Software Engineering
You have:

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure security principles,
  • experience in an Agile/Scrum SDLC,
  • knowledge of the twelve-factor app.

Architecture of the infrastructure

  • Experience in building and running production systems utilizing microservices and distributed systems architecture at scale.
  • You have a background in workload based on cloud-based system with at least one of the leading public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Container Orchestration and Infrastructure as Code.
  • You have experience in optimally defining and managing applications running on Kubernetes.
  • You have experience in IaaS configuration - effective and safe creation and maintenance of Public Cloud resources.
  • You have experience in describing the infrastructure configuration as a code with HashiCorp Terraform with the usage of different providers.

API Gateway Engineering

You have knowledge of:

  • common API concepts and standards as well as aspects of data storage, service status and session handling.
  • architect API Management system for high availability, resilience, and recover.
  • engineer API policies and standards for security and standardization of an enterprise.
