Eaton's IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Technician-EHS.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.50 per hour. The hours for this shift are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position provides environmental, health, and safety support and leadership to the site. Individual is accountable for: supporting EHS activities at said location; monitoring and maintaining EHS objectives and targets; internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of national and local regulatory requirements and ensuring adherence to corporate and site specific EHS procedures. Position is responsible for: supporting the maintenance of site ISO/OHSAS certifications; ensuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; ensuring closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; support in EHS training development and delivery of material; managing interfaces with the public and governmental authorities with adverse findings and enforcement actions; adhering to emergency response plans; creating a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assists EHS Manager in achieving EHS targets & objectives. Supports the development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives.
• Facilitate risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects and support EHS Manager to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.

• Input key data and monitor appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track performance against targets and objectives, driving continual improvement.
• Supports creation of EHS goals for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
• Supports the MESH element champions (safety committee) and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements.
• Drives and promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout site
• Creates and facilitates EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year
• Works with leadership team and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations
• Enters monthly KPIs into corporate database and monitors for accuracy and trends and is responsible for using established EHS data processes such as Benchmark and MESH Prism to manage data.
• Maintains training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion
• Supports security assessments, workstation risk assessments, ergonomic assessments, and continuous improvement.
• Support for MRO buying for the site including purchase supplies, track repairs, maintenance and replacements of equipment, machinery and other materials to procure accordingly.
• Support Facilities & Maintenance planning and the coordination of contractors engaged in constructing, maintaining and repairing buildings, machines or equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 1 -3 years with EHS Manufacturing Environment experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Post-secondary degree or diploma and 2-4 years of experience in EHS (Environmental Health & Safety), occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental safety functional support role.
• Comprehension of Eaton, industry, state, and country EHS requirements
• Research and development experience
• Strong team-building skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Adept at utilization of company-wide system for reporting EHS data and information
• Ability to demonstrate managerial courage (e.g., managing varied interests representing potential conflicts)
• Prior experience or education with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program.
• SAP Experience
• Experience in EHS-related function and/or purchasing/sourcing in a manufacturing environment
