Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Teardown Evaluator - 2nd Shift.

The hours for this role are 2:00pm - 10:00pm

The hourly rate for this position is $27.50 per hour.

What you'll do:

This position is primarily responsible for performing evaluations on NPD (new product development) repairs for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul business.

Please note, certain duties performed by this role require this position to be subject to the guidelines of our Repair Station Certificate and are subject to DOT drug testing.

• Evaluate condition of aircraft components and complete repair teardown reports in accordance with approved maintenance data.
• Select the proper technical data and routers for incoming repairs. Technical data includes, but is not limited to, specifications, blueprints, technical documents, engine shop manuals, component maintenance manuals.
• Review customer repair orders to identify requirements prior to part evaluation.
• Determine repair scope and assemble work instructions required to execute repairs.
• Prepare parts for evaluation by cleaning as required using isopropyl alcohol, abrasive cloth, ultrasonic cleaner, or mineral spirits flushing of hydraulic hoses.
• Perform minor blending and pressure tests on hoses, tubes, as ducts when required as part of evaluation process.
• Perform minor repairs (e.g., blending, RTV/Flexwrap hose repairs).

• Work with repair engineers to identify component defects beyond established repair limits to facilitate new repair development.
• Support repair development projects by performing inspections and damage/defect documentation.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate waste and reduce cost from MRO processes.
• 5S+ involvement which includes but not limited to your working area.
• Uphold quality integrity and generate non-conformance reports when parts don't meet specifications
• Uphold quality standards and follow all applicable procedures.
• Learn/Use MFGPro SSM (Service Support Module) to record Teardown Reports and other data entry.
• Support new repair call creation as needed.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• 1 year minimum experience in FAA repair station/Aviation Maintenance or aerospace manufacturing Quality role.
• HS diploma or GED
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 years minimum experience in FAA repair station/Aviation Maintenance environment
• 2-year technical degree or A&P mechanic
• FAA Repairman Certificate

Skills:

• Ability to navigate, read, and understand engineering drawings and maintenance data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements/order generation process logic.
• Ability to participate in and direct cross-functional process improvement teams.
• Ability to learn Blueprint and acquire GD&T knowledge
