What you'll do:

Help shape the future of power conversion at Eaton.

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Vantaa and play a key role in the development of Eaton's Medium Voltage Solid State Transformer (MVSST) technology.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of medium-voltage power electronics, systems engineering and next-generation power architectures, contributing to technology designed for a world where data centers and other high-power applications demand greater efficiency, power density and scalability.

As Senior Systems Engineer, you will help turn ambitious product concepts into a complete, robust system. You will work across electrical, mechanical, firmware, controls and validation disciplines, connecting the dots between customer needs, system architecture, engineering decisions and final verification.

Rather than owning just one component, you will have visibility across the complete system and an opportunity to leave your mark on technology that is strategically important to Eaton's future.

You will:

  • Shape system and product requirements and translate customer, regulatory and stakeholder needs into clear engineering direction.
  • Define how the system comes together, including electrical, mechanical, firmware, controls, communication and functional interfaces.
  • Work closely with experts across engineering disciplines to allocate requirements and resolve complex system-level challenges.
  • Support system architecture decisions, technology trade-offs, design reviews, risk analysis and change-impact assessments.
  • Drive end-to-end requirements traceability from initial product needs through design, testing and verification.
  • Partner with validation engineers to define verification strategies, acceptance criteria and test coverage.
  • Apply model-based systems engineering approaches and requirements-management tools to support complex product development.
  • Help ensure system requirements are clear, feasible, testable and ready for key development milestones.
  • Connect applicable standards and regulatory requirements with product requirements and verification evidence.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams and contribute to the development practices behind Eaton's evolving power-conversion technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, electrical product development, requirements engineering, or verification and validation of complex technical products

Skills:

  • Experience in requirements development and management, interface definition, requirements traceability, and verification planning.
  • Understanding of systems engineering and product development lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering and requirements management tools.
  • Knowledge of power electronics, medium-voltage equipment, UPS, or other complex electrical systems is an advantage.
  • Structured and analytical working style, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and global teams, and attention to detail in technical documentation
  • Experience leading cross-functional development teams, strong communication skills

What we can offer to you:

  • Contract in fast growing global company
  • Challenging projects in dynamic collaborative team
  • Great promotional opportunities - We encourage internal promotion, whenever possible
  • Excellent working environment - safety and ethic are really important for us
