Our Hengelo site is now located at the heart of the The Green Box cleantech campus in The Netherlands, a unique location with multiple companies who all work towards future clean technology. Eaton has offices, test, storage and production facilities for electrical equipment, which is essential for charging electric cars, temporarily storing electricity.

The site is on a sustained growth trend, as a complex agile High - manufacturing location. From sustainability to Energy Transition to the Electrification, the in Hengelo site is currently linked to all of these from a manufacturing standpoint, as in Hengelo we design and bring to life the next generation of medium - voltage switchgear power equipment.

We are looking for a Project Manager - Industrialization, NPI & Capacity to be joining our OPEX team in Hengelo.

In this role, you will lead the successful industrialization of new products and their associated processes, ensuring an inclusive and seamless transition from design to full-scale manufacturing. You will also guide diverse factory support initiatives such as equipment replacement, line relocations, and expansions within existing operations.

This position blends project management, lean manufacturing, and technical expertise, while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, valuing diverse perspectives to drive sustainable and innovative improvements.

Role location: on site in Hengelo, The Netherlands

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead diverse, cross-functional teams to deliver industrialization projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards, fostering an inclusive and respectful team environment.
  • Champion Eaton's Project Management system, ProLaunch, and support others in becoming ProLaunch advocates within the factory.
  • Implement and sustain Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS) and Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) principles, promoting equitable and sustainable manufacturing practices.
  • Drive the development and optimization of manufacturing processes - including assembly, punching, bending, welding, coating, casting, and turning - with a focus on safety, accessibility, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with and oversee progress across various departments such as Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Order Management, Sales, R&D, Quality, and Production, ensuring inclusive participation and transparent communication.
  • Support the design and validation of jigs, fixtures, and gauges, considering ergonomic and accessibility standards.
  • Apply quality tools such as PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and structured problem-solving (7 Step PDCA / 8D), while encouraging diverse input and continuous learning.
  • Conduct time studies and process estimations to support capacity planning and cost analysis, integrating feedback from a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Utilize CAD tools for layout planning and equipment design, ensuring compliance with ISO9001/TS16949 and other relevant quality management systems, while promoting inclusive design principles.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with business strategy, financial goals, and values of equity and inclusion.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, fostering a culture of openness, psychological safety, and positive change.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering or Business is considered a strong asset, especially when combined with diverse professional experiences and perspectives.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering, ideally in inclusive and multicultural environments.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience applying Lean Six Sigma principles in manufacturing settings.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, with a demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and drive equitable outcomes.
  • Knowledge & Certifications: familiarity with Industry 4.0, automation, and digitalization, with an openness to emerging technologies that enhance accessibility and sustainability.
  • Certifications:Lean Manufacturing Certification, Six Sigma Green Belt (minimum), PMI Project Management Certification or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, with attention to inclusive and ergonomic design.
  • Strong understanding of systematic layout planning and materials management systems.
  • Experience with quality systems and tools, applied in ways that support diverse user needs.
  • Financial and strategic acumen, with a focus on equitable resource allocation and long-term value creation.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (required), with openness to multilingual collaboration and cross-cultural communication.
  • Inclusive leadership and change management skills, fostering safety and belonging.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing abilities, with respect for diverse viewpoints and experiences.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen, aligned with values of equity and sustainability.
  • High level of initiative and problem-solving capability, with a collaborative and empathetic approach.
  • Demonstrated alignment with Eaton's Leadership Competencies, including ethical leadership, accountability, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
