Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist. This position is based at our Milton, ON facility and offers benefits from day one. Our Milton site has 225 team members and manufactures low voltage distribution assemblies including: panelboards, switchboards, transfer switches.

What will you do?
• Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee projects aimed at developing new manufacturing processes or enhancing existing ones. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project resources effectively.
• Process Optimization: Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Develop and implement optimized workflows and protocols to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.
• Vendor Collaboration: Engage with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, or machinery into the production environment.
• Industry Engagement: Stay actively involved in industry conferences, events, and professional networks to keep up with trends and advancements in manufacturing technology. Apply industry knowledge to drive innovation and maintain competitive edge.
• Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all manufacturing processes and practices comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards. Promote a safe working environment and implement measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Collaboration: Foster collaboration with engineering, design, and production teams to ensure seamless manufacturing processes. Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• College diploma or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Advance Manufacturing, Automation & Controls, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, automation and/or IT project development.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
• Only candidates residing within an 80 km radius of Milton will be considered for this position. No moving (relocation) is offered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in machine controls, sensors, motors, programming, data extraction and analytics.
• Experience in sheet metal industry (Punching, Laser cutting, forming)
• Experience with marketing or sales and/ or product life cycle.
• Training and experience with Lean & Six Sigma tools.
• Experience working with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
Position Criteria:
• Willingness to spend time on the production floor, utilizing tools and performing production tasks in order to learn and train others.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with office and production, technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Proficient with computer and software tools - including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros, etc.), MS-Project, Minitab, SQL, and at least one programming language.

The successful candidate will possess experience managing projects from design to implementation stage including hands-on testing and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. They should demonstrate a robust understanding of manufacturing, tools, safety and quality and be able to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced setting. They should also possess strong communication skills and the ability to teach and influence others, including both office staff and production employees, while influencing continuous improvement in the site's manufacturing processes.
The candidate should also be willing to maintain thorough documentation of manufacturing procedures and processes and be dedicated to keeping informed of the latest advancements in manufacturing technologies and methodologies.
