Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Machine Operator (Winder) 2nd Shift. The Richmond, VA site specifically focuses in on cirtical power distibution for multiple segments; those including Utitlites, Data Centers, Hospitality, and Commercial Instiutions. The hourly rate for this position is $27.49 + .80 shift differential per hour.
HOURS: 3:30PM - MIDNIGHT

What you'll do:
The Machine Operator (Winder) operator position will be responsible for winding coils used in electrical equipment and instruments or as electronic components, according to wiring diagrams, sample coil, or work order, using coil-winding machines and hand tools: Reviews wiring diagrams and work order or examines sample coil to ascertain type and size of wire specified, and type, size, length, circumference, and primary and secondary windings of coil to be wound.
- Operate and setup winding machine; wind aluminum and copper coils for dry type transformers
- Cross training in hook-up/hot work assembly to meet production demands
- Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc.
- Operate a crane to take the coils off and on the machine
- Maintain a minimum of 80% of productivity time standards
- Adhere to company regulations, including adherence to policies regarding safety, attendance and punctuality
- Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints
- Keep all work areas clean, organized and presentable
Position Criteria:
- Within the first 90 days you must test and pass for crane operation, welding, brazing and understanding and interpreting diagrams
- Ability to wind coils for dry type transformers while adhering to Eaton's quality standard
- Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc.
- Provide process and safety improvement ideas
- Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
Skills
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma from an accredited institution
- Must have a minimum of one year machine operator experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in related field
- Minimum of six months' welding experience; MIG preferred
- Proficient use heavy industrial equipment, including cranes, winding machines, fabrication, welding and brazing equipment
