Engineering Manager - Embedded Controls

What you'll do:

We are looking forward for engineering manager to lead and shape RDE portfolio for Embedded hardware team as part of Embedded Controls of ES EMEA. Engineering manager will be responsible for Implementing strategies focus around hardware development and V&V Embedded Products of Life Safety and Energy Solutions divisions. Build and leverage synergies between various product lines as well as participate in the Digital strategies for the product lines. An Engineering Manager be accountable for the NPI / NTI / Sustenance projects. Works closely with team mates from Eaton India Innovation Center (Pune) and various facilities in EMEA for New Product Developments and sustaining projects. Build Organization Capabilities - Hire and development plans for the talents. Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and Technologies with specific foucus on making them intelligenet & smart. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define strategic roadmap for building strong breakers team and RDE portfolio on key productlines

- Manages diverse product teams from multiple locations. Provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long-term goals. Define clear plan to leverage EIIC Lab and Prototype infrastructure to accelerate launches of key NPI/NTI programs for division.
- Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define roadmaps & drive Innovation / technology roadmap for Embedded products of EMEA team.
- Lead innovation events to shape ideas from the team.
- Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in Embedded and Software design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for Firmware and Software Engineers and related COE team at EIIC to develop innovative Technology.
- Indiviaul should have understanding of electrical, electronics and mechanical designs for Programamble Logic Controller (PLC), Life Safety (LS), Contactors and Medium Voltage Power Distribution (MVPD) to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
- Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups. Manages department budget and performance to forecast.
- Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments.
- Develop and control the schedule and direct the work to effectively manage time.

Qualifications:

  • BE/ME in Electronics, E&TC Engineering
  • 8-12 years of design experience with Embedded systems

Skills:

-Should have sound knowledge in Embedded products
-Experience leading a team through all stages of the product development cycle
-Hands on experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology
-Engineering technical expertise to solve problems and make design recommendations
-Knowledge in Agile ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes
-Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in electro-mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering
