*This is a hybrid position with an onsite requirement of 1-2 days per week. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance (approximately 50 miles) of either our Alpharetta, GA or Oakland, CA office to support onsite collaboration.

The Senior Software Engineer, Cloud EPM, is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and supporting enterprise-scale Oracle Cloud EPM solutions that enable financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, reporting, and analytics. This highly skilled techno-functional professional possesses deep expertise in Oracle EPM Cloud, including EPBCS, FCCS, ARCS, Cost Allocations, Strategic Modeling, and ERP integrations.

This role plays a critical part in implementing and maintaining enterprise EPM solutions, managing data extraction, loading and reconciliation processes, and developing financial reports. The individual will design, configure, and enhance Oracle Cloud EPM modules, including Planning (PBCS/EPBCS), Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS), Account Reconciliation (ARCS), Enterprise Data Management (EDMCS), Narrative Reporting, and Reporting & Analytics.

The ideal candidate will develop and maintain business rules, calculation scripts, Groovy scripts, and automation processes while designing dimensional models, metadata structures, hierarchies, and security frameworks aligned with Finance and Accounting requirements. This role will also build and support inbound and outbound integrations to ensure seamless data flow across systems using Data Management (DM/FDMEE concepts), REST APIs, EPM Automate, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and other middleware tools.

Additionally, the Senior Software Engineer will provide production support for Oracle Cloud EPM applications, troubleshoot complex technical and functional issues, lead upgrades and environment refresh activities, and design, develop, and maintain BI Publisher reports to support business reporting needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, configure, and support Oracle Cloud EPM applications, including Planning (PBCS/EPBCS), FCCS, ARCS, EDMCS, Narrative Reporting, and Reporting & Analytics.
  • Design, develop, and support integrations across the Oracle EPM Cloud ecosystem, including Planning, PCM, Narrative Reporting, ARCS, and FCCS.
  • Build and maintain integrations between Oracle EPM Cloud and source systems such as Oracle ERP Cloud, legacy general ledger systems, and data warehouses.
  • Develop and maintain business rules, calculation scripts, Groovy scripts, and automation processes.
  • Design dimensional models, metadata structures, hierarchies, and security frameworks aligned with business and finance requirements.
  • Automate data loads, metadata refreshes, financial close processes, and reconciliation activities.
  • Manage inbound and outbound data integrations using Data Management, REST APIs, EPM Automate, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and other middleware technologies.
  • Design, develop, and maintain BI Publisher (BIP) reports and reporting solutions.
  • Provide production support and troubleshoot complex functional and technical issues.
  • Lead application upgrades, patch testing, validation activities, and environment refreshes.
  • Optimize application performance, calculations, and data processing volumes.
  • Develop and execute testing strategies, including unit testing, regression testing, and automation where appropriate.
  • Enforce governance, security, version control, and change management standards across EPM environments.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and automated financial close, consolidation, and reconciliation processes.
  • Serve as a technical lead on EPM initiatives, system enhancements, and implementation projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and functional analysts while promoting engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing EPM applications.
  • Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset and drive process improvement through automation and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience implementing Oracle EPM Cloud solutions through multiple implementation cycles.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Cloud EPM modules, including Planning (PBCS/EPBCS), FCCS, ARCS, EDMCS, Narrative Reporting, and Reporting & Analytics.
  • Experience designing and developing integrations between Oracle EPM Cloud and enterprise systems using REST APIs, EPM Automate, Data Management, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), or similar technologies.
  • Experience designing and developing highly scalable, secure enterprise applications and solutions.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP integrations is preferred.
  • Exposure to SOX controls, audit compliance requirements, and financial systems governance.
  • Oracle EPM certifications (ARCS, FCCS, or EPM Cloud) are a plus.
  • Ability to understand business objectives and translate requirements into effective technical solutions and business cases.
  • Ability to evaluate existing business processes and partner with stakeholders to develop more efficient and automated workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and guiding junior engineers and technical team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative analysis and assess the value and impact of technology solutions.
  • Knowledge of organizational processes and experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile development practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, IT, and external vendor partners.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience developing and maintaining strategic vendor relationships while staying current on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and process improvement.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 22. $93,445 - $202,465
