GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Bridge of Life's staff, finances, fundraising, communications, programs, and ensuring the organization's financial health and compliance.
The ED will manage and motivate a talented team, and collaborate and report to the board of directors on the organization's performance and progress.
Most importantly, the ED will advance the organization's mission through resource cultivation, strategy, passionate advocacy, and effective partnerships.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Leadership & Management:
- Effectively articulate the nonprofit's vision, mission, theory of change, statement of need, and overall strategy and direction of the organization.
- Build alignment across the organization
- Instill and reinforce a culture of teamwork, excellence, continuous improvement and passionate commitment to the mission.
- Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration functions, fundraising, communications, and organizational systems.
- Work with the board and staff to develop and monitor the progress of a 3-year strategic plan with measurable objectives, and recommended timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals.
- Actively engage and energize Bridge of Life's donors, volunteers, board members, committees and partnering organizations.
- Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors; serve as ex-officio of each committee; seek and develop meaningful ways to engage for individual members.
- Lead, coach, develop, evaluate and retain Bridge of Life's staff.

- Ensure that Bridge of Life's strategic vision is clear to internal and external stakeholders and consistently communicated by staff, board members and others.
- Working with staff, identify strategies to continuously strengthen programs and evaluate the constituents being served.
- Continuously strive to engage volunteers in meaningful ways, both in direct program support and indirect opportunities such as fundraising events and operations support.
- Ensure effective systems to track progress, and regularly evaluate program impact to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.
- Lead fundraising efforts against a strategic and measurable resource development plan.
- Continuously cultivate DaVita as Bridge of Life's primary stakeholder, through relationship development, communicating impact and value, and engaging in mutually beneficial programs and activities.
- Foster positive relationships with donors, partners, volunteers and other stakeholders.
- Expand revenue generating and fundraising activities to grow existing programs and strengthen organizational health through diverse funding sources.
- Deepen and refine all aspects of communications-including website, social media, newsletters and other communication strategies for stakeholders and prospects.
- Serve as spokesperson to the organization's current and prospective stakeholders.
- Responsible for fiscal management that operates within a board-approved budget, ensures maximum use of resources, and maintains the organization in a positive financial position.
- Support the production of accurate monthly financial statements and monitor financial health and performance.
- Ensure compliance with all financial requirements, including an annual audit, completion of state fundraising registrations, and the filing of required tax documents.
- Oversee risk management factors, including adequate insurance coverage, appropriate volunteer policies and procedures, travel safety guidelines and emergency preparedness.
- Assess the organization's infrastructure for opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs where appropriate.
- Help build, sustain, and strengthen all board functions, including meetings, policy compliance, and committee work.
- Work to build alignment between the board and staff while maintaining role clarity.
- Collaborate with the chairperson of the board to identify and recruit board members as needed.
- Support the board of directors in fulfilling its key responsibilities.
- Ensure each board member is engaged in a manner that is impactful and fulfilling.
- Lead the preparation of materials needed for productive and engaging board meetings.
- Support the officers of the board to ensure all governance requirements are met.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; masters degree preferred
- Nonprofit management experience required
- Demonstrated fundraising experience resulting in revenue growth
- Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of fundraising strategies
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- A persuasive and passionate communicator who is comfortable with public speaking
- Past success working with a Board of Directors and the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships
- Strong marketing, public relations, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
- Solid organizational abilities, including strategic planning, managing a team, and driving results
- Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, financial analysis and responsive decision-making

The Salary Range for the role is $100,100.00 - $147,000.00 per year.
