We are looking for a talented Electronic System Engineering Student to join our team in Huddersfield specializing in Controls & Electronics for our L Platform Global VII program.
During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence on Summer 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Supporting Engineering : Assisting developing requirements of L Platform Global VII engine. Support with building test benches and wiring schematics.
- Compliance Knowledge : Developing and maintaining laboratory environment and automation testing using CAN tools and other tools for data acquisition.
- Employee Relations : Assisting other team members within the controls and electronics organization.
- Policy Adherence : Ensuring all lab safety and policies at met and followed.
- Team Support : Supporting team members in need of controls setup and system integration.
- Report Management : Understanding and assisting in controls automation testing and generation of test reports that meets with today's V-model structure.
- Record Keeping : Coordinating and maintaining laboratory test setups, materials, and component inventories.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- We are looking for a wide range of candidates studying towards an Automation/ Energy/ Electrical/ Automotive Engineering degree course.
- Strong logical thinking, effective time management, and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Ability to show initiative with a creative mindset.
- Evidence of extra-curricular or voluntary experience in line with Cummins company values may be beneficial.
