DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Accountant to join our team specializing in Finance for Cummins in Modlniczka (malopolskie), Poland.

Working hours: 08:00 -16:00, hybrid: 3 times in the office.

This is a temporary backfill role for a two-year period to cover maternity leave.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure full compliance with Polish statutory regulations, US GAAP, and corporate accounting policies through cooperation with external auditors, Polish authorities, and Corporate Finance.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate calculation, reporting, and submission of all statutory taxes (VAT, CIT, PIT, WHT) and reports to GUS and NBP.
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed assets register in accordance with accounting standards and company procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, supporting schedules, and variance analyses to ensure accuracy and transparency in financial reporting.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis of general ledger accounts and statements, identifying and investigating unusual variances or discrepancies.
  • Support the Financial Controller in preparing the Polish entity for the upcoming system implementation, ensuring data integrity and process readiness.
  • Manage and document accounting processes in line with corporate procedures and best practices to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on audits, financial reporting, and other finance-related projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Qualified Accountant required; Chartered Accountant certification preferred, with solid experience as a Senior Accountant or Deputy Chief Accountant, ideally within a multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Polish accounting regulations and familiarity with US GAAP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications, with experience using major accounting systems such as Movex, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Native Polish speaker with good command of English, enabling effective communication in an international business setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification is preferred.
  • Intermediate level of relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.
