Air Quality Specialist
Responsibilities:
Accountable for sustainment of Site Environmental, Health and Safety Information ensuring alignment with global EHS program (Enablon, SDS Management, Change Management, etc.)
Develops criteria for local and global management review, reporting issues and status to the relevant stakeholders, project team and the project steering committee.
Responsible for determining and providing corporate sustainability metrics on Americas. Collect, validate, and report air quality metrics and performance versus goals, as directed; analyze metrics to find opportunities for improvement amid the key elements to successful EHS management such as regulatory compliance, risk assessment, communication, self-audit, and senior leadership engagement.
Leads preparation and completion of air permit application packages, verify accuracy of emission calculations and estimates for routine emissions, as well as maintenance, startup and shutdown emissions.

Oversees, manages and provides strategic direction for compliance programs related to air quality. Ensures compilation of data, and accurate and timely preparation of regulatory reports and permit updates/submissions including, but not limited to required reports (e.g., Title V, AER, etc.).
Acts as the Environmental SME during stage gate reviews of major Tier 1 and 2 projects. Support and Review Portfolio of US CSL projects, ensuring they are outlined properly to identify and address EHS impacts.
Understands and effectively articulates the actual risk of the project vs secondary control options at the respected site. Ensures proper prioritization of EHS matters, including that all required controls are in place as part of portfolio/project request (building to code, standard etc.), with a specific focus on connecting large projects and site expansion to current operations. Guiding and leading all aspects of process mapping, permitting and ongoing expansion/compliance requirements.
Ensures regulatory compliance and site conformance to air quality procedures and policies.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred and/or an MBA.
Experience
- 6 - 8 years of EHS or related experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical or chemical environment.
- Well versed in EHS management systems such as ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations with emphasis on the Clean Air Act, New Source Review/Preventions of Significant Deterioration, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, New Source Performance Standards, New Source Review, Title V Permitting, Best Available Control Technology, Ozone Depleting Substances and similar regulations.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence broadly across multiple sites and levels.
- Excels at the development of clear, concise, and effective policies, standards, and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication are essential in this collaborative work environment.
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience with the implementation and sustainment of an EHS Electronic Management System.
- Experience with data analytics and/or operational excellence and continuous improvement practices preferred
- Comfortable in a fast-paced company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.

The expected base salary range for this position at hiring is $130,000 - $153,000. Please note this salary range reflects the minimum and maximum base pay that CSL expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base salary for a successful candidate is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and other relevant factors. In addition to base salary, total compensation for this role may also include incentive compensation and equity.
