You will be joining our team where you will have between 7-10 direct reports. We work in Squads as you may expect and accountability for the capability of the overall process will be a key aspect of your role.

We must have captured your interest by now, but if you really want to know more, keep reading....

A role you will love

People management will form a big part of your role and we are looking for you to support those in your care, driving success and continuous improvement. You will really foster the career of those that you lead, understanding their goals and what we need to do to enable them to get to where they want to be.

You will also be an SME, acting as a circuit breaker for the squads and acting as an escalation point for any issues they face. Here, you will coach and mentor your squad to solve the problem rather than dictate the answers. You will also be there to ensure that your direct reports are following standards and process in everything they do.

At times, we may need you to act in a delivery capacity and lead on key work within your area of expertise.

We expect you to be on top of market trends, sharing knowledge and best practice not just across your squad but the wider team.

What will you bring to the role?

You will be an experienced .Net developer with a demonstrable background working within an Agile/or DevOps environment. An SME in your field, committed to the principles of continuous delivery, software craftmanship and clean code.

We have already highlighted the importance of leadership capability throughout the advert, but you really must have a passion for not just leading a team day to day but harnessing talent and driving success through mentoring and coaching.

You will be collaborative, innovative and solution driven and all the other buzz words you might think of. However, it is true this is what we need.

  • Experience of embedding development best practice and adopting a continuous improvement mindset
  • Knowledge of applying engineering practices for design, build, test and deployment
  • Any experience of development and support within an enterprise context would be of advantage
  • Being able to build communities across geographical areas or equivalent would also be a benefit to us, but not essential
  • Willingness to learn, develop and challenge within a collaborative and supportive environment

Does this sound like the role for you? Then feel free to apply or reach out for a chat!
