JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Transportation Carrier Representative will work with transportation company to move available freight within the organization's brokerage network. In this role, you will handle relationships with a moderately complex portfolio of carriers through prospecting and onboarding activities to ensure efficient, cost effective and profitable movement of goods for the organization.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Partner with respective teams to support the placement of a moderately complex carrier portfolio, standard operating processes, available capacity and quality services.
- Engage frequently with key carrier contacts to establish relationships.
- Communicate with key carrier contacts on service issues and provide resolution.
- Maintain data and prepare reports in the organization's operating system to ensure accurate and timely information and relevant buying decisions.
- Participate in negotiations to support bids, price and service commitments which fulfill profit goals and service requirements.
- Provide contributions to continuous improvement activities related to carrier opportunities, best practices, industry developments and events.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.
