Production Engineer
Job Purpose and Impact
The Production Engineer, will apply engineering techniques to assist in the improvement of manufacturing processes and products. In this role, you will provide technical support, operations experience, continuous improvement and project management skills and be a contributing member of a team on issues related to the operational domain area. You will participate in the guidance and oversight of external third parties that are utilized at the site. You will improve the stability, capability and availability of processes while reducing variability and mitigating risks in the operational area. You will enable the operational area to achieve variable and fixed cost and operating efficiency targets, while protecting our people, communities, the environment and assets and honor our business obligations.
Key Accountabilities
- Collect and analyze operational data and trends and develop recommendations and plans to improve the performance and reporting process of manufacturing equipment and processes and ensure consistent monitoring and early warning indicators.
- Help plan and schedule maintenance of plant systems using reliability models and predictive technologies in collaboration with maintenance leadership.
- Monitor and manage variable and fixed costs at the site in collaboration with internal technology and finance operations stakeholders.
- Help plan and monitor production shutdowns ensuring legal and preventive maintenance compliance of manufacturing equipment.
- Help process engineer analyze capital expenditures and project designs to find more efficient, cost-effective approaches, which promotes higher quality and reliable outcomes.
- Serve as point of contact and interface with third party personnel to assist with setting priorities, monitoring safety and improving their skills over time.
- Connect with relevant personnel from other departments within the site or across the business to benchmark practices and assist in the creation of strategies.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a chemical engineering and related field.
- Preferable 1-2 years experience in palm oil and fractionation.
- Strong data analysis capabilities including continuous improvement experience or certifications.
- Fresh Graduate is encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of operating systems used to build custom talilored solutions that meet unique customer specific requirements of engineering subject matter.
- Experience coordinating and providing guidance to industrial contractors, maintenance and field personnel.
- Project management experience gained through prior experience.
- Minimum of one year of related work experience.
- Good to have experience with green belt, lean or six sigma methodologies.
Prior Beneficial Experience
- Perform routine maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Execute and monitor production shutdowns ensuring legal and preventive maintenance compliance of manufacturing equipment.
