This position is in Cargill's food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Capital Project Engineer will focus on optimizing our interconnected components of a manufacturing system. We seek a professional who will apply regulatory and company standards and provide advice across general mechanical and production engineering disciplines. In this role, you will help coordinate the plant facilities including personnel work flow, material logistics, production processes and equipment layouts. A key focus on contractor management understanding technical standards to ensure safe execution and commissioning of projects.
Key Accountabilities
Design equipment and process improvements focussing on safe & efficient production.
Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Present options to management, manage quotes during project scoping, present approval packages to site and business management.
Organize with hands on communication to technical trades such as millwrights, plumbers and electricians during construction and commissioning.
Partner with production during commissioning activities transiting with an owners mindset for best production results.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of two years of related work experience in food manufacturing focussed on project management across multiple contractor disciplines or capital and process engineering work roles.
Able to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions associated with a food production.
Preferred
Proven experience dealing with Ontario regulatory bodies (Electrical Safety Authority, Technical Standards and Safety Authority, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Environment)
