What you’ll do

As Data Manager, Analytics, you’ll own Brex’s company‑wide reporting and lead a growing team of embedded Data analysts across GTM, Operations, Product, and Marketing. You’ll define our KPI framework and semantic layer, deliver executive‑ready dashboards and business reviews, and raise the craft of analytics through coaching, standards, and tooling. Your work will give leaders a single source of truth, shorten time‑to‑insight, and help Brex deploy capital and people where they drive the most impact.

In 6–12 months, success looks like:

  • Build and maintain the trusted set of KPI used across functions and exec forums.
  • Reporting that is on‑time, accurate, and self‑serve for most routine questions.
  • A high‑performing analyst team with clear goals, growth and plans.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our San Francisco office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of two coordinated days in the office per week, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!

Responsibilities

  • Lead the company‑wide reporting strategy and roadmap, defining the KPI framework, metric governance, and exec/board‑level readouts.
  • Develop a scalable semantic/metrics layer (e.g., dbt + BI) that standardizes definitions and powers self‑serve analytics.
  • Manage and grow embedded analysts; set objectives, establish craft standards, and run a healthy operating cadence (planning, backlog, QA, post‑mortems)
  • Partner with GTM/Ops/CX/Product/Marketing leadership to translate business goals into measurable targets, experiments, and forecastable pipelines.
  • Operationalize executive dashboards and weekly/monthly/quarterly business reviews; ensure coherent narratives and consistent KPI hygiene.
  • Improve data quality via SLAs, monitoring, and incident response; communicate impacts and drive root‑cause fixes with Data Science & Data Engineering.
  • Influence strategy with deep analysis (cohorts, funnels, retention, pricing, forecasting); quantify trade‑offs and expected ROI of key bets.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in analytics; 2–4+ years managing analysts; high‑growth tech/fintech.
  • Expert SQL; Python; Snowflake; dbt (or similar).
  • BI/semantic‑layer design; exec‑quality dashboards (Looker/Mode/Hex/Tableau).
    KPI ownership and governance at scale.
  • Executive communication; stakeholder influence; team leadership.
  • Reliable reporting execution with QA and SLAs.
  • Must be willing to work in office 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is 150,696 - 188,370. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
