Role Overview:

Our Analytics team sits within the Accommodations Business Unit and currently supports Commercial Operations and Global Accounts focused teams in making decisions, minimising business risks and monitoring performance. Collaborating seamlessly with Commercial stakeholders, we deliver value through ad-hoc analyses and longer-term strategic initiatives. The team focuses on topics like Commercial Partner Cards & Segmentation, Global Accounts performance monitoring through deep-dive analysis and dashboards. We are also responsible for building and maintaining the core, reliable data infrastructure used horizontally across the department. We ensure all teams have access to the standardized, long-term foundational tables necessary for consistent reporting and strategic analysis.

As part of the ABU data organization, we benefit from strong collaboration and knowledge sharing with other Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineer and Machine Learning teams. We're looking for a data driven, positive and motivated individual with attention to detail who is adept at transforming complex business questions into actionable analytical solutions and communicating insights effectively to a diverse audience.

Data Analysts I work on analytics tasks such as reporting, visualization and analysis within the scope of their team. They consult with stakeholders in problem-definition, setting success metrics and shaping the way forward through data insights and effective communication with their audience. They are responsible for independent development and delivery of analytical data products that enable business decision-making. They support solution ideation and technical designs and drive hands-on implementation. Furthermore, they support the influencing and guidance to business and technology strategies, as they relate to data, through constant cross-functional interaction. They actively engage with product/analytics/commercial teams, wider tracks and verticals to deeply understand their business needs. By asking insightful questions, they identify the critical data required to address these challenges, and align transformation with the overall commercial strategy. This demands both technical expertise and an in-depth understanding of business needs. They collaborate with peers in their craft and follow best practices ensuring data quality and stability.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for owning the design and delivery of parts of Data Analytics solutions based on business requirements, contributing to bringing them from the initial idea-generation phase to implementation with some supervision.
  • Responsible for working independently on consuming data, preparing it for analytical use and translating business problems to data stories. Can ask for guidance on more complex tasks.
  • Responsible for connecting and collaborating with stakeholders in operational and project-based roles under the guidance of a manager. Uses effective communication to address their needs and presents data insights in an accessible, business-friendly manner.
  • Responsible for growing their own craft skills while leveraging Data Analytics for impact on well defined business problems.
  • Responsible for supporting junior peers when opportunity presents itself through knowledge sharing and setting a good example.
  • Responsible for driving the implementation of reliable and well trusted metrics defined by the business, connecting disparate datasets into unified data products in the Lakehouse and/or Data Warehouse.
  • Support product teams in defining the Data Architecture for their domains, from conceptual to physical modeling in the Data Warehouse.
  • Perform Data Governance responsibilities such as technical stewardship, data classification, compliance management, data quality monitoring, and security considerations.
  • Responsible for connecting with peers in related crafts (ie. Data Analytics, Data Engineering) as needed on specific projects to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Must have high level knowledge about the goals of their area (ie. track / vertical).
  • Responsible for ensuring quality of their own work by validating it through peer review.
  • Responsible for leveraging foundational skills in data analysis and data visualization to answer business questions. They incorporate stakeholder requirements when creating intuitive and insightful visualizations that translate data into actionable insights.

Role Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Driven and results-oriented personality

  • Analytical and curious mindset
  • Able to understand details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience in a data or software adjacent field, working with systems and data infrastructure at scale.
  • Proficiency in data analysis languages (e.g., SQL, Python) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Independent in working with ETL/ELT tools and methodologies
  • Independent in working with relational databases and any flavor of SQL in an analytical context
  • Communicating (written and spoken) and stakeholder management.
