The Investment AI team within Aladdin Applied AI and Engineering (A2IE) is responsible for conducting AI research and building scalable AI solutions to support investment businesses across BlackRock. The team conducts cutting-edge research in AI methodologies, responsible AI, and other emerging technologies.

Job Description

You will be responsible for creating sophisticated, value-added AI systems and solutions that support core investment business decisions and activities (e.g., trading decisions, investment strategies for the firm and/or clients, research initiatives, and deal structuring). This includes building high-performance AI algorithms, prototypes, and predictive models that are horizontal across various business units to enable alpha generation and improve the investment process. You will also be involved in designing and developing valuable AI research libraries or enterprise AI services as part of the proprietary enterprise AI platform.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics or a related discipline).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, including:
  • Building advanced quantitative or generative AI models using methods such as unsupervised ML, gradient boosting, deep learning, LLM evaluation, or related techniques.
  • Researching recent AI technologies and applying them to financial problems.
  • Documenting the model development process and conducting thorough model testing and surveillance planning.
  • Developing and testing prototypes and integrating them into production systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and extensive experience working with Azure or GCP.
  • Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset with a clear, logical, and structured thought process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deliver presentations on complex model methodologies to internal and external business teams.
