Software Engineer

Driving Simulation and Data Processing are two of the hottest and most important technologies supporting ADAS, Automated Driving, and vehicle cockpit development. The Sim and Tools organization has the charter within Aptiv's Office of the Chief Technology Officer to create, enhance, and maintain the code of the software tools that are used for Driving Simulation and Data Processing, both in the form of desktop applications and datacenter/cloud frameworks. Used in every corner of Aptiv's Advanced Safety and User Experience business, and by the OEM customers themselves, the products of the Sim and Tools organization are cornerstones of the Aptiv's ability to execute its engineering projects. We are fortunate to attract some of the best and brightest software development and software development leadership talent because tool development, especially those tools used in big data processing, datacenter/cloud/HPCC deployment, and involving AI/ML, enables a larger degree of creativity and user engagement that is unique in the automotive industry.

Your Role

  • Create and deploy Windows and Linux applications, scripts, and deployment frameworks for data processing including the data processing of map and behavior data. The applications, scripts, and deployment frameworks are used as tools by engineers to develop and deploy Aptiv's products.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or physics (master's degree in software engineering or computer science preferred).
  • #EXP[5-8]
  • Ability to code in Python3 / C++ and Rust [you will be tested during the evaluation process] (2+ years of job assignment experience preferred)
  • Experience with relational, graph, and no-SQL databases including large scale load balancing (2+ years of job assignment experience involving map data preferred)
  • Ability to implement a cluster-deployed and containerized software solution that has both static (low latency) and dynamic updates.
  • Experience in designing a scalable solution, specifically dealing with the problems when there are multiple requests expected to achieve rapid updates.
  • Command of the English language with clear and comprehensive written and spoken communication ability (5+ years of workplace fluent English immersion preferred)
