Material Cost Improvement Senior Engineer

As a Material Cost Improvement Senior Engineer on our team, you'll have the opportunity to innovate new electrical and mechanical design across multiple products that will positively impact the material performance of our company

In your daily job you will:

  • Innovate design of new circuits and building blocks on current existing products with focus on savings and introduction of new concepts and ideas
  • Work with customer teams and our supplier community to pick new components in the new innovative designs
  • Work with simulation teams on reviewing cost savings design to prove their effectiveness and affordability
  • Understand the MCIP targets for the next three years and create electrical design targets that supports our business targets
  • Understand and follow Product Development Design process in association with program teams and ensure we have aggressive plans to achieve our design savings
  • Work closely with current project teams to identify innovative design ideas and bring them back to current products
  • Work in tandem with Idea Generation team on selection of new components
  • Be an active member of supplier cost reviews and provide guidance to the category teams
  • Work with Engineering CAD teams on the new design initiatives to enable and optimize design layouts
  • Design new circuits building blocks that can replace existing older designs
  • Commonize components across circuits to provide additional volume for savings negotiations

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronics or similar
  • Master Degree in Electrical, Electronics or similar
  • Experience in designing and testing complex digital and analog circuits with particular focus on microcontroller devices, power analog and digital circuits and signal measurement
  • Experience in electronics design for EMI/EMC compliance
  • In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of electrical and electronics design
  • Self driven to innovate new designs and focus on cost savings
  • Practical skills in CAD and simulation tools
  • Good English skills (both spoken and written)
  • Ability to summarize and communicate varied data in a concise way
  • Team oriented
  • Ability to work with teams across the region and in a matrix organization
  • Ability to work independently and highly motivated on design cost savings
