Position Summary
Performs advanced incoming, in-process, and final inspection of precision-manufactured components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, internal quality requirements, and applicable procedures. This position serves as a senior-level inspection resource, independently manages multiple inspection priorities, supports resolution of complex quality issues, and provides technical guidance to other inspectors to ensure product quality and on-time manufacturing support.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex dimensional, visual, and final inspections of precision components using engineering drawings, specifications, inspection procedures, and established acceptance criteria.
  • Independently operate and interpret results from precision measurement and inspection equipment, including CMM, vision systems, height gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, surface/profile measurement equipment, and other applicable metrology tools.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, inspection requirements, and customer specifications to determine product conformity.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple inspection assignments simultaneously based on production schedules, customer commitments, material availability, and management direction to minimize manufacturing delays.
  • Maintain expected inspection productivity, accuracy, and turnaround time while ensuring inspection quality is not compromised.
  • Accurately document inspection results in applicable quality systems, inspection reports, travelers, data sheets, and other required records, ensuring complete and traceable quality documentation.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource within the inspection team, assisting with complex inspections, measurement methodology, equipment usage, and troubleshooting.
  • Verify inspection equipment is within calibration requirements before use and maintain inspection equipment and work areas in a clean, organized, and controlled condition.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection efficiency, measurement methods, workflow, documentation, and quality controls and actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with the supervisor and cross-functional teams regarding inspection status, workload, priorities, quality concerns, and potential production impacts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exercise sound judgment, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and escalate issues promptly when necessary.
  • Follow all applicable quality, safety, EHS, cleanroom, handling, and company procedures.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control inspection, dimensional inspection, precision manufacturing, or a related quality/manufacturing environment. Experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and inspection criteria.
  • Proficiency with common precision measurement equipment and automated/manual inspection systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex inspections independently and accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and data integrity.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize competing inspection requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to identify abnormalities, exercise appropriate judgment, and escalate quality risks proactively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production.
  • Ability to coach or provide technical guidance to less-experienced inspectors.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, reliability, and continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Must be comfortable working in a controlled cleanroom environment and able to follow all applicable cleanroom protocols, including gowning requirements, contamination-control practices, material-handling procedures, and established EHS and safety requirements.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or formal training in Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical Technology, Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications or training in GD&T, dimensional metrology, CMM operation/programming, quality systems, or problem-solving methodologies are preferred.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
