We are the Product Systems Quality organization, and we are looking for a Wireless Product Validation Engineer. We work cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering, Hardware Technology, and Software Engineering. We focus on the end user performance and play a critical role in shipping high quality Apple products!

You will be responsible for developing, designing, and running tests to validate wireless features on Apple products. Additionally, you will lead automation of wireless performance testbeds and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of exceptional Apple products with unparalleled wireless experiences for our customers.

Description

You should possess a comprehensive understanding of wireless technologies and have direct practical experience demonstrating domain expertise in one of the wireless connectivity technologies, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (classic BT/BLE), Thread/Matter. You'll have a deep theoretical knowledge of wireless protocols, hands-on experience in consistently validating one of these wireless technologies and good tooling and automation expertise in wireless performance evaluation.

Evaluating the performance of wireless technologies for specific products and demonstrating the user benefits of the technology

Performing comprehensive measurements and analyses of multi-radio wireless coexistence scenarios

Preparing test reports, dashboards to visualize data, performing risk assessment and failure analysis to aid data driven product decisions

Working closely with cross-functional teams and representing the organization in key leadership forums

Writing high quality automation tools and scripts with minimal supervision or support

Preferred Qualifications

Master's in an Engineering field preferred

Strong debugging experience is highly desirable

Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols: Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) or Bluetooth/BLE, 802.15.4/Thread/Matter

Proficiency in network/RF tools such as iPerf, Wireshark, Ellisys, Network and Spectrum Analyzers, attenuators is beneficial

Experience working with standards bodies in the wireless domain, including IEEE, Wi-Fi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Thread Group, is beneficial

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in an Engineering field

Proven experience as a Software Test and Automation Engineer specializing in wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, and other wireless protocols

3 years of proven experience evaluating wireless performance in WiFi or Bluetooth.

3 years of proven programming experience in scripting languages such as PERL, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, C#, and others

Strong written and verbal communication skills
