Software Development Engineer: Screen Sharing Experiences

Our lean, high-impact team is looking for a collaborative and technically skilled Software Development Engineer to help drive innovation and improvements across our screen sharing experiences, including iPhone Mirroring, Screen Sharing, Sidecar, and more. In this role, you will apply deep technical knowledge, propose new ideas, and contribute to improving and making accessible apps and features critical to customers viewing and remote controlling Apple devices all over the world while continuing to grow your craft.

Description

As a Software Development Engineer, you will contribute to delivering high-quality features which surprise and delight our users as well as shaping our technical infrastructure and processes. Bringing a thorough understanding of relevant technical concepts, you will exercise independence in solving problems, seek and integrate feedback effectively, and collaborate closely with teammates and cross-functional partners. This role is well suited for an engineer who is ready to take on growing ownership, propose process improvements, and deliver high-quality work with broad impact at both the team level and across the entire software engineering organization.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain our screen sharing experiences

Design, develop, and create new screen sharing experiences

Contribute to complex technical projects from planning through delivery, supporting timelines and quality standards

Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, assisting teammates as needed and representing the team's work clearly to stakeholders

Diagnose system issues through log analysis and system diagnostics, exercising independent judgment in resolving technical problems

Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reliability, and efficiency of software tools and processes, and propose solutions to the team

Escalate risks and blockers proactively, coming prepared with proposed solutions

Demonstrate growing awareness of organizational, technical, and program context to prioritize work appropriately

Share knowledge with junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented team environment

Actively build your internal network across teams and nurture those professional relationships

Preferred Qualifications

Interest in one or more of the following customer features: iPhone Mirroring, Screen Sharing, Sidecar, FaceTime remote control

Interest in leading cross-functional projects and shipping high quality software

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of software development experience with demonstrated proficiency in Swift or Objective-C

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, prioritize work, and integrate feedback constructively

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
