The Cellular RF Hardware team designs, develops, and optimizes radio frequency (RF) board and module designs for Cellular silicon development, Cellular platform development, and cellular-enabled Apple products.
Description
The Cellular RF Hardware Characterization Engineer will support the hardware design team in measuring and characterizing cellular radio components and hardware designs across Apple's entire cellular-enabled product line. Some international and domestic travel may be required.","responsibilities":"Build out and maintain rack based RF test setups capable of running fully automated hardware characterization test campaigns. Ensure test setups are fully calibrated and running at maximum efficiency at all times. Work with lab management on test equipment maintenance.
Run test setup automation tools to collect parametric data on cellular RF components and hardware designs.
Collect measurement data from the test stations and assist design engineers with data processing and visualization. Generate test reports as needed.
Collaborate with rework technicians to have hardware reworked as needed to support new hardware characterization campaigns.
Collaborate with test automation engineers to develop new test and automation features, debug test script/station issues, and to ensure rack equipment and test software is up to date.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates or Applied Science degree or higher in electronics
3+ years of hands on experience in RF test and measurement in an R&D lab setting.

Scripting and script debug experience (Python, Matlab, etc.).
Experience with data analysis tools (Tableau, Excel, Matlab, etc.).
Basic familiarity with reading schematics and reviewing PCB layouts.
Experience in RF test and measurement methodology and equipment in the 24-48GHz.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ year minimum related experience required
Basic understanding of electronic components such as resistors, inductors, capacitors, diodes, etc.
Experience in RF test and measurement methodology and equipment in the 600MHz to 8GHz frequency range; spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, cellular call boxes, load pull tuners, oscilloscopes, etc.
Experience with assembling and managing automated characterization racks and test setups for RF component or hardware characterization.
Ability to lift test equipment weighing up to 50 pounds off the ground to waist height.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
