As a core member of the product design FEA team, you will drive the design of groundbreaking products using advanced material characterization and product validation methods.","responsibilities":"Develop advanced testing methods to understand and characterize mechanical behavior of materials, components, and systems.

Develop advanced testing methods for new products under a variety of loading conditions, including static, high impact, and cyclic loading.

Design test fixtures and develop test procedures for a variety of material systems, modules and products.

Work closely with FEA engineers to analyze test data, validate advanced material models for numerical simulations.

Work closely with product design engineers to analyze test data and recommend design solutions.

Manage the operation of an advanced materials & mechanics testing lab. Supervise technicians and other lab staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Deep understanding of impact dynamics and relevant characterization methods such as Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) and Drop Tower.

Familiar with advanced measurement techniques such as Digital Image Correlations (DIC).

Experience in finite element simulations.

Experience in lab management.

Attention to details and commitment to verification/validation.

Excellent cross-functional collaboration and written and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated to identify areas for improvement and drive innovation.

Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with passion for creating cutting edge products.

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, or similar discipline

Minimum Qualifications

Strong knowledge of solid mechanics and mechanical behavior of materials.

Strong background in experimental mechanics and advanced testing methods.

Experience with CAD design software and fixture design.

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, or similar discipline required along with 5+ years of relevant experience.
