Apple Inc. is looking for a Display Engineer for the development and qualification of Displays for Apple Watch & iPhone products. This individual will be working on flat panel displays both at the component and system level, serving as a focal point between the system design team, the display EE team, display mechanical team, the supply base management team, and the display suppliers, managing all activities vital to deliver displays into final products from initial concept to production.
Description
Integral part of an internal multi-functional team working with team members across optical, EE, ME, process and panel design expertise.
Perform display inspection and review test results from display quality inspection, system OEMs, and multi-functional groups at Apple to ensure the performance specifications are met.
Track all open engineering issues and help drive them to closure with efficiency to support project needs.
Support engineering builds at display and system integration sites. Audit the processes and lead factory experiments to address issues. Drive and track failure analysis with suppliers, Apple and external FA labs.
Preferred Qualifications
With up to 5 years of proven experience working in a display related field is preferred.
An in-depth understanding of display measurement and performance evaluation, display technologies, display module construction, process development and display systems.
Minimum Qualifications
MS or BS in EE or Physics, technical experience in a subset of the following fields: optical design and characterization, optical and/or human visual physics, semiconductor optoelectronics, display technologies, optical sensor technologies, circuits.
Experience supporting engineering builds at display and system integration sites.
Experience auditing assembly and test processes, with track record of driving failure analysis with suppliers, and external FA labs.
Excellent project management, communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness and ability to travel.
