Apple IS&T is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director for Finance Technology Solutions. This strategic leadership role is pivotal in shaping the future of Apple's financial operations by driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge IT solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing the technology strategy and delivery for multiple finance functions across our global enterprise, ensuring alignment with Apple's strategic objectives and maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and efficiency.
As a key leader within IS&T, you will act as the primary representative for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Finance within IS&T, making critical decisions on solution prioritization and resource allocation. You will champion innovation, particularly leveraging Generative AI, to transform how IS&T supports Finance, drastically reducing manual effort and fostering a culture of re-use and standardization. This role requires a deep understanding of financial processes and regulatory compliance, as well as a proven track record of delivering impactful technology solutions on a global scale.","responsibilities":"Strategic Leadership & Roadmap: Define and execute the strategic roadmap for IT solutions supporting Apple's global finance functions, aligning technology initiatives with business priorities.
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Management: Serve as the IS&T owner for Finance TCO, driving financial stewardship, optimizing investments, and ensuring maximum value delivery for all finance-related IT initiatives.
Prioritization & Portfolio Management: Lead the prioritization and deprioritization of Finance solutioning efforts within IS&T, making data-driven decisions that balance innovation, compliance, and operational efficiency across a complex portfolio.
SOX Compliance & Controls: Possess a deep and nuanced understanding of SOX audit requirements and IS&T's responsibilities in maintaining robust IT controls, ensuring all financial systems and processes meet stringent regulatory standards.
GenAI Innovation & Automation: Champion and lead the exploration, development, and implementation of Generative AI and other advanced technologies to significantly advance and accelerate IS&T's support for Finance, with a clear focus on minimizing manual effort and driving intelligent automation.
Efficiency & Re-use: Drive a culture of efficiency by promoting the principle of re-use across all solution development, actively identifying and eliminating duplication of effort to maximize resource effectiveness.
Standardization & Innovation Bandwidth: Formulate and implement standardized approaches for common finance initiatives, creating a robust matrix of capabilities that frees up bandwidth for strategic innovation and allows the team to disrupt traditional methods.
Global Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with Finance business leaders across corporate and regional offices worldwide, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
Global vs. Regional Solutions: Expertly navigate the complexities of global operations, discerning when worldwide solutions are appropriate versus where regional modifications or bespoke solutions are essential to meet specific market or regulatory needs.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of technology professionals, fostering an environment of continuous learning, technical excellence, and innovation.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree (MBA, MS) or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, PMP, TOGAF) are highly preferred.
Outstanding strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate complex business challenges into effective technology strategies.
Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders across all levels of the organization, globally.
Proven ability to manage TCO, prioritize initiatives, and make tough decisions that balance short-term needs with long-term strategic goals.
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative environment.
A global mindset, with experience in managing solutions that cater to both worldwide standards and regional specificities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
15+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 8+ years focused on delivering technology solutions for Finance organizations in a large, global enterprise.
Proven experience at a Director level or equivalent, managing complex portfolios of projects and leading significant technology transformations.
Deep expertise in financial processes (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, Revenue Recognition, Cost Accounting).
Exceptional understanding of SOX compliance, IT General Controls (ITGCs), and the role of IS&T in audit readiness and ongoing compliance.
Demonstrated experience in leveraging emerging technologies, particularly Generative AI, Machine Learning, or advanced analytics, to drive business value and automation within a finance context.
Strong background and hands-on experience with enterprise-level ERP systems, specifically SAP S/4HANA, and proficiency with data warehousing and analytics platforms such as Snowflake, data science platforms like Dataiku, and traditional relational databases like Oracle RDBMS.
