Description
The Design Manager will be focused on creating content in all media that supports and enhances the features and services Apple offers in the health space. This means executing and ensuring consistency of the look and feel, overseeing design work in digital and video, and commissioning illustration and photography. A successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and skilled communicator with a proven track record of planning and executing within a highly collaborative team.","responsibilities":"Strong command of visual and communication design principles
Manage a team of designers and art directors to coordinate assignments and assure consistency and excellence
Collaborate with the greater editorial team, including video, in the development and execution of many content types; and additionally work closely with engineers, clinicians and data scientists to understand needs, constraints and goals
Output will include graphics, multi-media layouts and article design as well as animation and graphics for video, created in partnership with the video team
Iterate and critique your own work and the work of others on the team to ensure the best solutions for a given problem
Output will also include guiding the commissioning and art directing of illustrations and still photography
Work within a schedule to deliver high quality work on time
Proficient at extending existing design patterns across new ideas and platforms
Work enthusiastically with a highly collaborative design team in an iterative design process, inspired by group critique
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with health apps/programs/data is not necessary but valuable; passion for health is a must
Self-motivated and able to efficiently run with a project and a team without close supervision
Prototyping and/or animation experience is a plus
Budget management and creative thinking around spending
Flexible and comfortable with ambiguity and change during a project

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years experience crafting extraordinary digital content designs for iOS, desktop or web platforms
Proficient in Sketch, Abode Design Suite, Keynote, After Effects, Illustrator and other design tools
Strong communication skills with a penchant for working closely with other teams including video, data, designers, category experts, engineering and program management
Established network of designers, illustrators and photographers and photo production teams
Can oversee the workflow for many projects at once
Has a passion for Apple, its products, and its customers

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $228,100 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
