AirPods Analog Systems Engineer, Power
The AirPods team is seeking an Analog Systems Engineer to help drive the design, development, and delivery of next-generation AirPods products. In this role, you will be the power and battery management subsystem expert, at the center of cross-functional interactions and technical decision making. Your work will span the full product development lifecycle, from subsystem architecture and design through integration, validation, and mass production.
Description
Lead architecture and performance optimizations for power and battery management subsystems
Perform design analysis and simulations, including tolerance analysis, noise, power and signal integrity, and timing
Assist with component selection and schematic/layout reviews with cross-functional hardware teams
Partner with silicon vendors on new PMIC and charger IC development, including design reviews, bring-up, and characterization
Support hardware and firmware bring-up, characterization, and debug
Author hardware specifications and review vendor datasheets

Support hardware prototyping and engineering demos
Drive product and manufacturing validation through DVT and into mass production
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in designing low-power, high volume consumer products
Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to accelerate design analysis, simulation, hardware characterization, and validation workflows
Experience with scripting languages such as Matlab and Python
Familiarity with SPICE-based simulation tools
Familiarity with digital interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, etc.
Familiarity with the development process of new silicon
MS or Ph.D in EE or equivalent preferred
Minimum Qualifications
BS/MS EE or equivalent
7+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal hardware design
Deep understanding of various power mixed-signal building blocks: PMIC, DC-DC switching converter, LDO, charger, battery, PCM, ADC/DAC, temperature sensor, LED driver, ultra-low power design
Strong analog/mixed-signal analysis: simulations, tolerance analysis, noise, power integrity, signal-integrity, timing, etc.
Proficient in bench testing and equipment usage (oscilloscope, power supplies, electronic loads, DMM, etc.) for silicon and system validation
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to drive alignment across hardware, firmware, and silicon teams","internalDetails":null
