Lauren studied math and computer science at Loyola University before moving on to the University of Maryland pursue a graduate degree in computer science with a focus in cyber security. In graduate school, she held positions as research assistant and IT Security Analyst before finding the perfect opportunity to hone her cyber security skills as a Cyber Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman.

Lauren and her team follow an Agile software development process, which means the team starts each morning with a 10-minute meeting to recap their work from the previous day and share their plans moving forward. Lauren spends the rest of her day coding for a few hours, followed by in-depth team discussions or occasionally helping host college recruitment events and cyber competitions.
