Lauren studied math and computer science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and pursued a degree in computer science with a focus in cyber security. While at UMBC, she held positions as research assistant and IT Security Analyst before finding the perfect opportunity to hone her cyber security skills as a Cyber Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman.
Lauren and her team follow an Agile software development process, which means the team starts each morning with a 10-minute meeting to recap their work from the previous day and share their plans moving forward. Lauren spends the rest of her day coding for a few hours, followed by in-depth team discussions or occasionally helping host college recruitment events and cyber competitions.
“I’m so excited about the different roles and opportunities Northrop Grumman offers to help us succeed.”
“For someone applying to a job here, I recommend being aware of all the different opportunities out there and seeking out the ones that make you queasy—those are the ones that’ll challenge you and make you grow.”
