It seems like everywhere you look, meditation and mindfulness are being hailed as the cure for all things, from stress to bad test scores. So, like many busy professionals determined to up their game, I've been telling myself that I should really start meditating for months now.
Of course, despite my best efforts, I never did. (Let's be honest: It's a rare day when I can find a few minutes to scarf down lunch for myself, let alone sit quietly and meditate.)
That is, until I found Buddhify 2, a new iOS app ($1.99) that takes a modern approach to mindfulness. Its makers recognize that sitting in a quiet place isn't always easy, and so they've created guided meditation tracks for 14 different activities, from commuting on the train to sitting at work and even to falling asleep.
Each activity has a few guided meditations of different lengths, so you can sneak in a calm moment even when you only have five minutes to spare.
