Director of Direct Marketing

The Director of Lifecycle Marketing will build and integrate Zynga's Lifecycle strategy across the organization. This role will launch and manage engagement and generate revenue across numerous Zynga games.  This person will be a talented professional who combines strategic vision with demonstrated email marketing and push notification experience. This position requires a seasoned professional who can translate business objectives into strategies and project plans for a portfolio of games in differing genres. Metrics driven, this position requires an experienced eye towards ROI targets and is someone that can analyze large volumes of data and can make key business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  
Responsibilities:
  • Help drive the Zynga customer retention strategy by developing a comprehensive email and push program for multiple game studios
  • Lead, mentor and inspire a global team of Lifecycle Managers
  • Lead the cross game user contact strategy and manage overall email file health and productivity
  • Leverage email marketing tools to develop transactional, promotional, and informational content strategies that maximize customer retention, win-back, cross-sell and up-sell programs
  • Manage creation and execution of email marketing campaigns that deliver against business goals
  • Create data-driven, dynamic email and push campaigns and tests that deliver against ROI targets through a highly segmented customer base
  • Drive and optimize key traffic and revenue metrics including CTR, open rates, incremental revenue lift, engagement, retention, and installs
  • Contribute to comprehensive testing & reporting matrix that accurately assesses delivery, profitability and performance of each email campaign on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Maintain and ensure high levels of data hygiene and integrity with fast-growing, high-volume lists
  • Develop strong relationships with game studios to continually test and optimize programs
  • Work with cross functional team to develop and advance email tools

Required Skills:

  • BA required; MBA preferred
  • 5 – 7 years lifeycle/retention marketing-specific experience
  • 2+ years of demonstrated success managing and growing a team
  • Demonstrated success in managing high volume integrated email and push marketing programs for consumer audiences
  • Results-driven with exceptional detail and knowledge around metrics, specifically A/B testing and ROI analysis
  • Expert knowledge of email marketing/CRM tools
  • Strategic CRM focus and can suggest creative solutions in-line with business objectives
  • Self-starter with ability to thrive under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Understanding of HTML, basic image editing functions with an eye towards award-winning email designs
  • Passion for retention and email marketing, as well as personal achievement of goals with a drive to succeed
  • Experience with social media and/or strong interest in the gaming industry
  • Exceptional communication skills and with a team-first attitude
