Programmatic Sales Director - Advertising

As a Programmatic Sales Director - Advertising, you’ll have the opportunity to cross-collaborate with all Zoosk departments – from finance to product – to find new ways to monetize Zoosk’s offerings through advertising and other strategic partnerships. In this role, your primary initial responsibility will be to manage and grow the company’s early-stage programmatic advertising business.

 In the first few months you will have:

  • Completed a thorough assessment of our current advertising performance
  • Increased revenue from our existing ad units by optimizing fill rates, price floors and ad networks, etc.
  • Developed a great working relationship with product, engineering, marketing, finance, ad vendors and others
  • Worked with product and engineering to implement new ad units and ad networks and extend advertising to our mobile web and desktop platforms
  • Helped develop an advertising strategy and roadmap to grow revenue while maintaining a positive user experience
  • Developed an efficient internal reporting process
  • Completed an analysis of the advertising and strategic partnership efforts of our competitors and peer group

The Role:

  • Daily analysis of demand-side ad partner performance and manage all decisions relating to Zoosk’s advertising offering, including on-boarding of new ad vendors and relationship management with existing ad partners
  • Manage advertising reporting (internal and external) and optimize fill rates, price floors, etc.
  • Identify new areas of opportunity within our products (apps, mobile web and website), including enhancing existing ad placements or implementing new ad units or types
  • Explore new ways to drive further value through promotions, direct marketing relationships, or other avenues
  • Evaluate new advertising technologies, market trends and industry best practices

Must Haves:

  • Experience with publisher-side ad operations using Google DFP, MoPub or similar
  • Familiarity and direct hands-on experience with programmatic advertising implementation and related concepts
  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Sales oriented
  • Highly organized approach with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests concurrently
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem solve independently under strict deadlines
  • Proven capability in providing data analysis and analytical insights to develop effective, revenue-producing ad campaigns
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
